Mauro Marasciulo is an incredible addition to the Forza1 Staff and brings a wealth of professional volleyball coaching experience to our club. In 2019 Mauro led the 16UA team to a 6th place finish in SCVA and a bronze medal at USA Nationals in the USA Division. In 2017/2018 season Mauro coached both the 17UA and 16UA team at Forza1. 16UA finished 9th in SCVA and 17UA finished 6th place! In the 2016-2017 season Mauro was the Head Coach of our 16-1 Under Armour Girl's Team and led them to 2nd place in SCVA and 4 top 5 finishes. He also assisted on the 18 National team. Mauro is an integral part of Forza1's training program and continues to help build the fundamentals and concepts of volleyball at Forza1.
Mauro has been coaching for over 31 years throughout the world and has worked with both youth and professional players. Prior to coming to Forza1, he was the National Team Head Coach and Director of Volleyball for the Country of Peru, South America. In two short years he was able to lead the Peruvian National Team to a Silver Medal at the World Grand Prix Group 3. He was able to do amazing things with the players and advance the team to the World Cup where they were just 1 game away from qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio, 2016.
Prior to working with the Peruvian National Team, Mauro was the Head Coach of the Columbia National Team (in South America) and helped them to qualify for the first time for the World Grand Prix in 2014. His under 23 team also finished with a silver in the South American Games. He also led the under 18 team to a Bronze medal in the Pan American Games in Cuba.
The President of the Columbian Volleyball Federation says, "Mauro played a critical and essential role in the success of the Columbian National Volleyball Teams and his contributions have been of major significance as evidenced by winning the 2013 Federation Cup in Peru and winning the 2013 Latin Cup in Peru and taking the team to the World Championship for the first time in 24 years in 2013."
Mauro was hired by these National Teams after coaching successfully in the professional leagues in Europe for many years. From 1991-2011 he coached primarily in Italy's A1 & A2 leagues for both indoor and outdoor.
During this time some of his teams awards included 1st place at Beach Volleyball Italian Championship 2000 &2002, 1st place of the European Federation Volleyball (CEV) Cup in 2001, 1st place at A2 and promotion to A1 in 2003, 1st place at the Serie A Beach Volleyball Italian Super Cup 2006, 2nd place at A2 Italian Championship 2008/2010 and Final Four Italian Cup 2009.
Mauro is a coach of great skill and versatility and his success at each level is indicative of his commitment to the sport and being the best. In 2004 he was recognized with the very prestigious Luigi Razzoli award for Best Coach in A2. Since then he has continued to rise and take teams and countries to new levels on an international stage that is extremely competitive.
Mauro and his wife Ana look forward to working with Forza1 and friends Ardian, Kristina and Dana to make Forza1 the best club in the United States.
Mauro is married to Ana Mesquita who also coaches for Forza1. They met playing volleyball on the beach in Brazil and they are passionate about their family and children, Pedro and Carolina, who are currently college students.
Mauro grew up in Brazil where he was a Champion multiple times with his club and the Brazilian National Team. Some of his Championships were in the 13U, 15U, 17U (National), 18U and in 1992 he was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Federation of Volleyball of Rio de Janeiro. In 1994 he was also the Champion of the FIVB World Tour Championship of Beach Volleyball with Team Monica-Adriana.
